Grain Weevil Infestations
Grain Weevils, such as the most common Granary Weevil are a stored product pest primarily focused on “whole” grains, seeds, nuts and legumes. You normally get weevil problems because you brought home and stored some type of grain kernel that a female weevil had already laid its eggs inside of. Females can lay up approximately 250 eggs at a time, but the eggs take one to 5 months to hatch, so they are normally missed because you use the food stuffs before they have had time to hatch. So, the issue is storing these items for extended periods and not putting them in plastic or glass containers.
