How to Identify White Fly Infestation
Whiteflies are fond of hibiscus, camellia, and vibumum. They have piercing sucking mouthparts and feed on the underside of leaves. White spirals are the most noticeable sign of infestation, the top of the leaf becomes pale or blotchy as it drains away essential fluids from the plant. Like other landscape pests, whiteflies produce large amounts of honeydew in which grimy mold can grow. While it causes no significant damage, black fungus decreases the plant’s photosynthesis activity.
