Beetle Health Concerns
Adult beetles have chewing mouthparts, so some can bite, but typically this is more accidental then on purpose. Mostly they just cause damage to stored dried food products, many natural fabrics, such as cotton and wool and wood, animal fibers and feathers.
Beetles in the larval stage don’t bite, but their cast-off molted skins have been known to cause irritation to human skin and itchy dermatitis.
