INSPECTION
It begins with a customer interview, followed by a thorough visual inspection for pest IDENTIFICATION and DETERMINATION of a course of action. Inspection includes mattress tufts, seams & areas around the buttons, box spring & bed frame, headboard, nightstands, adjacent baseboards, pictures, etc. to verify that no bed bugs (or other pests) are present. The pest professional makes thorough notes of all findings and always invites the customer to participate in the inspection process.
Linen Removal
Customer removes all bedding (sheets, pillowcases, mattress pads, blankets, comforters, bed skirts, etc.) so the pest professional can inspect and treat the bedding sets. Note: Because no infestation is suspected, there is no need to bag and launder the linens.
Miscellaneous Item Removal
Customer removes the contents from closets, dressers, nightstands, etc. so the pest professional can inspect and treat common bed bug harborage sites. Note: Because no infestation is suspected, there is no need to bag items for treatment.
PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
Before beginning his work, the pest professional verifies that the room was prepped by the customer for treatment. The intensive I.P.M. steps are as follows:
Preparation
The technician moves each bedding set off the wall and then removes the mattress from the box spring. He makes a plan for preventative treatment.
Liquid application #1
With a mattress tip (medium flow) on the Tornado and Temprid, the technician treats the box spring (including the area under the ticking) and bed frame.
Liquid application #2
With a fabric tip (low flow) on the Tornado and Temprid, the technician does a crack & crevice treatment on the headboard, nightstands, dressers, armoire, luggage racks, luggage exteriors and upholstered furniture.
Liquid application #3
With a crack & crevice wand (high flow) on the Tornado and Temprid, the technician treats any structural feature that offers a potential bed bug harborage, such as where the carpeting abuts baseboards or wall surfaces, (including the area inside closets), door frames, accessible shelving, etc.
Encasement Installation
Truly Nolen recommends the installation of a mattress & box spring encasement system on each bed after the units are treated.
Monitoring Station
Install at least one monitoring station near insect "hot spot(s)."
COMMUNICATION
The pest control professional never under-estimates the importance of communication with his customer. Once the job is completed, he personally discusses with the customer what preventative treatment activities were performed, as well as educating the customer about bed bugs, how to identify early signs of infestation and the importance of contacting Truly Nolen whenever an infestation is suspected. Warranty on the special service program is 90 days. If the warrantied area shows activity during the 90 day period, a full corrective treatment will be provided. Those with reoccurring pest management service have ongoing coverage.
