Truly Nolen Pest Control was excited to host the company’s third annual Community Car Show November 9 at the Truly Nolen Corporate Leadership and Training Center in Tucson, Arizona. Free to the public, the car show featured local Tucson Car Club entries side-by-side with classics from the Truly Nolen Antique Car Collection for the second straight year. In addition, for the first time, the car show featured a customer corner of Truly Nolen customers who have classic cars.
Over 1,000 people attended the car show, which included trophies as selected by Truly Nolen team members, car club members, and general attendees in addition to Best in Show. There were also multiple food trucks on-site for visitors looking to eat, a community corner in the courtyard featuring multiple non-profit organizations, and a Kid’s Corner full of exciting activities.
Among the cars that were featured from the late Mr. Nolen’s collection included one of the original Volkswagen Mouse Cars, a Chevy Apache, a Ford Mustang convertible, and a Ford Model T Speedster. These antique cars were unlocked so people could sit in the driver's or passenger seat, take photos, and share on social media channels.
Due to event demand the first two years, the company sold an event T-Shirt for the first time in the event’s three year history. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds of each shirt went to the non-profit Ramon’s Miracle on 31st. Established in 1970 by Tucson resident and car enthusiast Ramon Gonzales, Miracle on 31st Street is a Christmas Celebration for children who live in Tucson’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods.
“What started as a way for us to showcase my father’s extensive antique collection has evolved into a fun event for our local car club community,” said Michelle Nolen Senner, Director of Operational Administrative Support and Special Projects, and one of the late Mr. Nolen’s children. “We are also proud to be able to support Miracle on 31st Street through our T-Shirt sales, as they have provided underprivileged children in Tucson with Christmas fun for nearly 50 years.”
The event is expected to return for a fourth edition in 2020.
